50/50 Women on Boards

50/50WOB is a nonprofit dedicated to accelerating gender balance and diversity on corporate boards. Their mission is to educate, advocate and collaborate to increase the number of women on boards and drive business imperative for corporate action, with women holding half of the corporate board seats of Russell 3000 index companies. A Better Balance (ABB)

ABB’s mission is to promote equality and expand choices for women and men at all income levels so they may care for their families without sacrificing economic security. ABB leverages the power of the law to ensure that no worker has to choose between job and family. Resources include WorkPlace Rights Hub a state by state guide to workplace laws that can help ensure you are free from discrimination; and Babygate which is a one-stop-shop for information about pregnancy and parenting at work.

American Association of University Women (AAUW)

AAUW works for workplace and economic equity including equal pay, salary negotiation and training, how to create a career, how to negotiate, how to get paid what you are worth and more. The AAUW’s mission is to advance gender equity for women and girls through research, education, and advocacy.

Economic Policy Institute (EPI)

The Economic Policy Institute (EPI) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan think tank to include the needs of low- and middle-income workers in economic policy discussions. EPI believes every working person deserves a good job with fair pay, affordable health care, and retirement security.

Elephant in the Valley

Elephant in the Valley was a collaborative effort of seven women in Silicon Valley. They focused on five areas: Feedback and Promotion, Unconscious Biases, Inclusion, Motherhood, and Harassment and Safety. They discovered that men were unaware of the issues that women faced in the workplace. They encourage you to read and discuss.
